We’re delighted to look back on the unforgettable Onam Celebrations that filled our hearts with joy last year! Hosted by the Worthing Malayalee Association, this annual festival beautifully showcased the vibrant culture and traditions of Kerala.
History of Onam: Onam commemorates the homecoming of King Mahabali, symbolizing Kerala’s golden era of prosperity and unity. It’s celebrated with traditional dances like Thiruvathira Kali, intricate flower decorations (Pookalam), and the grand Onasadya feast.
Event Highlights:
The evening was filled with cultural performances that mesmerized attendees, including the rhythmic beats of water drums and the lively tunes of DJ and Ganamela. Guests indulged in a lavish dinner featuring authentic Kerala cuisine, immersing themselves in the rich flavors and culinary heritage of the region.
